Deadly Bicycle Accident near Coffee Road in West Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 14, 2021) – One person was killed Saturday evening after a bicycle accident near Coffee Road and Brimhall Road in West Bakersfield.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident happened around 6:44 p.m., March 13. The bicycle collided with a vehicle near the intersection for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Information about the victim is not available at this time.
 
Coffee and Brimhall roads were closed down for several hours after the crash.
 
It is unknown if alcohol, drugs or speed played a factor in the accident. Further investigation is underway.
