One Injured in Motorcycle Accident at East Fifth Street and Buena Vista Avenue [Oxnard, CA]

Motorcyclist Suffers Injuries after Colliding with Police Truck on East Fifth Street in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (February 8, 2023) – One person was injured in a motorcycle accident at East Fifth Street and Buena Vista Avenue in Oxnard on Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:07 p.m. on February 2. According to the CHP, a northbound police pickup truck was stopped at a stop sign on Buena Vista, waiting to turn left onto Fifth Street. A private bus had stopped on eastbound Fifth Street to let the pickup through, although there are no stop signs on Fifth at the crossing.
 
As the police truck was turning left, a motorcyclist traveling westbound on Fifth hit the front right bumper of the truck. The truck then swerved left and collided with the bus.
 
The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and suffered moderate injuries. Paramedics took him to a local hospital in stable condition.
 
Meanwhile, two Oxnard police officers sustained minor injuries and declined transport. The bus passengers were unharmed.
 
The Oxnard Police Department is still investigating the accident.
