Crash on 10 Freeway near Cottonwood Springs Road Leaves One Person Injured

 
CHIRIACO SUMMIT, CA (June 08, 2021) — At least one person suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on 10 Freeway near Cottonwood Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports about the accident at around 8:30 a.m. Reports indicated that the crash took place on the westbound side of the freeway near Chiriaco Summit, about 25 miles east of Indio.
 
When first responders reached the scene, they found a Scion sedan and a Jeep involved in a collision. Officials confirmed that at least one person sustained minor injuries. It was not clear, however, whether paramedics transported the injured party to a hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the fast lane of the 10 Freeway remained closed while the emergency response was ongoing. The area has since reopened.
