High-Speed Crash on Highway 101 in Monterey County Leaves Driver with Minor Injuries

 
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2024) – At least one person was hurt in high-speed Accident on Highway 101 in Monterey County Thursday morning on June 13.
 
The accident happened around 10:54 a.m. at Potter Road, just near Spence and outside Salinas. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Sedan was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a semi truck that was turning onto the highway from Potter Road.
 
As a result, the driver of the Honda had a laceration on his right hand.
 
The crash left lane two of the highway shutdown due to produce that the big rig had spilled on the roadway. Lane one was immediately opened after the accident.
 
Extreme traffic continued throughout the afternoon while the big rig waited for a tow truck.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
