At Least One Hurt in Monrovia Fiery Crash on 210 Freeway

MONROVIA, CA (January 17, 2022) — A fiery crash on 210 Freeway left at least one person injured in Monrovia on Friday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said that the incident took place at around 5:47 a.m. It involved a big rig, a motorcycle, and, possibly, a third vehicle.

Reports indicated that first responders found a motorcyclist down in the slow lane. However, the motorcycle was stuck underneath the trailer of a semi-truck also involved in the crash. Officials called in a heavy-duty tow truck to lift the trailer off of the bike.

Meanwhile, the big rig caught fire. Officials said that it was possible that the flames fully engulfed another vehicle.

The crash forced the closure of lanes 3, 4, and 5 of the eastbound 210 Freeway east of Buena Vista Street. However, all lanes were opened at about 9:36 a.m. on Friday.

Poor driving habits present a danger to yourself and to others on the road. It is important to keep safety as your top priority. When behind the wheel, do not multitask and keep your attention on the road at all times. Never drive impaired and do not forget to buckle up for safety.
