One Dead in Pedestrian Accident on 805 Freeway [San Diego, CA]

One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash On 805 Freeway near Highway 94

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 26, 2021) — One person suffered fatal injuries in a pedestrian accident on 805 Freeway on Thursday, July 22.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Salvador Castro, the incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. on the southbound 805 Freeway just north of Highway 94.
 
Castro said that paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the name and city of residence of the victim.
 
The motorist stayed at the crash site and cooperated with authorities.
 
Officers closed the five right lanes on the southbound 805 for multiple hours during the on-scene investigation.
 
No other details about the incident were immediately available.
