HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (February 22, 2021) – One person is now in critical condition following a pedestrian accident on 5th Street on February 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near S Street around 6:23 AM.
 
Based on a report, officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Prior to that, a 79-year-old male driver struck the 45-year-old man who suddenly stepped into the roadway.
 
As a result, officers found the man down on the ground with major injuries. Immediately, crews transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
