DAVIS, CA (November 1, 2021) – One person suffered critical injuries after a bicycle accident on Russell Boulevard on October 26.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Highway 113 at approximately 7:15 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the female cyclist was entering the highway’s southbound on-ramp prior to the crash. At the same time, a motorist failed to stop for a red light on Russell. Subsequently, the vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, the 19-year-old cyclist suffered critical injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to Kaiser Vacaville, where she remained in the intensive-care unit.
 
After the crash, the motorist stopped and cooperated with the police. At this point, the Davis Police Department is investigating the collision.
