Major-Injury Accident on Highway 180 in Fresno County Involves Sedan and SUV

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 15, 2022) – One person was airlifted after a two-car accident on Highway 180 in Fresno County on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on April 13 at the intersection with Newmark Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray sedan was traveling eastbound on the highway 180 when an oncoming SUV traveling west turned to head north on Newmark Avenue.
 
The SUV then drove right in front of the sedan and collided. The impact caused the SUV to overturn, ejecting its two male occupants who were not wearing their seat belts along with a third occupant.
 
An air ambulance took one of the ejected patients to a hospital with serious injuries. A ground ambulance transported the other two to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
 
CHP officials said they do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in crash. Further investigation is underway.
