Injuries Sustained in Accident on Mendocino Pass Road in Covelo

 
COVELO, CA (October 20, 2021) – Paramedics airlifted one person to the hospital following an accident on Mendocino Pass Road on October 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Short Creek Road around 2:15 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, an unidentified vehicle had gone off the Mendocino Pass Road. An occupant of the said vehicle called the emergency call center in Mendocino County and said that the crash ejected another occupant from the vehicle.
 
As a result, the caller and the second motorist sustained injuries in the incident. Subsequently, an air ambulance airlifted the other patient to an out-of-the-area hospital. In addition, crews used a ground ambulance to send the caller to an in-county hospital for treatment.
 
At this point, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
