CHP Officer Sustains Injuries after Crash with Sedan on Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (October 11, 2022) – A CHP officer was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside early Friday morning, October 7.
 
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. at Trautwein Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the officer was driving the agency’s sport-utility vehicle west on Van Buren when a sedan going east, made a left turn on a red light.
 
The sedan then went into the officer’s path and the cars collided.
 
The officer sustained minor to moderate injuries and was treated at a hospital. The other driver was not injured but taken to the hospital as a precaution.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and liability remain under investigation.
