DUI Driver Arrested after Accident Involving Modesto Police Patrol Vehicle on Whitcomb Way

 
MODESTO, CA (June 8, 2022) – A police officer was hurt after a DUI accident on Whitcomb Way on Monday evening.
 
According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident happened on June 6, at about 7:42 p.m. A driver reportedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Whitcomb Way and hit a patrol vehicle that was northbound on Sisk Road.
 
Emergency crews rendered aid to one police officer, who complained of pain.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other driver to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Officers say that the driver will be arrested on suspicion of DUI after medical clearance.
 
Authorities did not release the names of the people involved.
 
Modesto police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
