SANTA ANA, CA (March 1, 2021) – A woman in her 80s died in a pedestrian accident on Sullivan Street on February 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened before noon at the intersection of Willits Street.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. At the same time, another elderly individual was driving southbound and making an eastbound turn. Due to unknown reasons, the Santa Ana Police Department said the vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, the woman died in the incident. Initially, crews transported her to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
 
The driver, who is 89 years old, kept driving home about two blocks away. Witnesses saw his car’s license plate number and called the police. At this point, the man is now cooperating with investigators. In addition, an investigation into this pedestrian accident on Sullivan Street is ongoing.
