WEST COVINA, CA (April 28, 2022) – Police arrested Noe Manzanarez for DUI after a fatal crash on 10 Freeway in West Covina, early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 12:03 a.m. on April 27 at North Azusa Avenue. CHP officials said the 19-year-old suspect from Palmdale was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a Nissan Sentra that was stopped due to heavy traffic.

The impact of the crash led to either the Camry or the Nissan hitting a Ford F-350 pickup truck, which was stopped in the next lane.

First responders arrived to find one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames.

The woman driving the Nissan died at the scene. She was not yet identified.

Manzanarez sustained minor injuries while the Ford’s driver, a 34-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man, was not injured.

Officers arrested Manzanarez on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury or death. They booked him at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station and held him at the Inmate Reception Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
