Nehemias Rivera-Menjivar Detained in Santa Monica Hit-and-Run, DUI Crash at 7th Street and Wilshire Boulevard

 
SANTA MONICA, CA (September 25, 2023) — Nehemias Rivera-Menjivar faces hit-and-run DUI charges in Wednesday’s accident at 7th Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
 
According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the incident happened around 11:20 p.m. When an officer saw a driver in a stolen car run a red light and commit other traffic violations, they decided to pursue the vehicle. However, the vehicle struck another car at 7th Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
 
Instead of stopping, the suspect continued driving down the Santa Monica Pier into the Newcomb Lot. Subsequently, the chase continued but stopped when the driver was boxed in near the Carousel Building at the pier.
 
Subsequently, the suspect tried to flee on foot even after being struck by a stun gun.
