Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on 210 Freeway near 134 Freeway

 
PASADENA, CA (June 23, 2021) – Nayely A. Reveles Ortega died in a pedestrian accident on 210 Freeway in Pasadena early Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 1:52 a.m. on June 22, near 134 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old woman was walking on the freeway when a westbound white Ford Expedition struck her.
 
The driver abruptly turned to the left to avoid a collision but the right front of the SUV struck the victim. After the crash, Ortega was propelled in a northwesterly direction and struck the asphalt roadway.
 
Responding paramedics pronounced Ortega dead at the scene.
 
The SUV driver, a 40-year-old woman, remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Crews closed two right lanes of traffic on 210 Freeway for several hours while they cleared the wreckage.
