Pedestrian Killed, Myron Haskin Detained after Sacramento Hit-and-Run on Franklin Boulevard
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 26, 2021) – Police arrested Myron Haskin after a fatal pedestrian crash on Franklin Boulevard on March 25.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Turnbridge Drive just after 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, Haskin’s Ford SUV veered out of its lane and struck a male walking in the bike lane. Subsequently, the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. Officers did not release the victim’s identity.
CHP officers said the front license plate of the suspect vehicle fell off during the collision. Thus, they were able to locate it on northbound Highway 99 near 12th Avenue. They then arrested the driver, 28-year-old Myron Haskin of Sacramento, on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit and run, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license, according to the news release.
