Rider Mikha Benedictus Dies after Colliding with Vehicle in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (August 24, 2021) – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash on August 17 as 22-year-old Mikha Benedictus of Goleta.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. just west of Los Carneros Road. According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a motorcycle and another vehicle collided for unknown reasons.
 
First responders arrived at the scene to find Benedictus’ motorcycle wedged under the car. However, Benedictus died at the scene.
 
Sheriff’s officials say the two people who were in the car did not sustain injuries and cooperated.
 
At this time, is unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol are involved.
