Rider Dies after Colliding with Car near Swift and Blackstone Avenues in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (August 9, 2021) – A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident near Swift Avenue and Blackstone Avenue in north Fresno on Thursday night.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on August 5. According to the Fresno Police Department, a dark-colored car was making a U-turn when it collided with the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was riding in a group of five other riders traveling south on Blackstone.
 
The impact threw the motorcyclist onto the roadway and he died at the scene. Officers only described him as a white or Hispanic man, in his late 20s or early 30s.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with police. It does not appear that the driver was speeding at the time of the crash, police said.
 
It is not unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor. Further investigation is underway.
