Motorcyclist Killed, Francisco Rodas Arrested in Hit-and-Run on South Mission Road [Fallbrook, CA]

32-Year-Old Rider Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Pickup Truck in Fallbrook

 
FALLBROOK, CA (November 14, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on South Mission Road in Fallbrook late Saturday afternoon, November 12.
 
Around 5:46 p.m., a 32-year-old man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 4500 block of South Mission Road. A driver in a black Toyota T-100 pickup truck heading westbound on La Canada Road pulled into the intersection and struck the motorcycle.
 
The impact pushed the motorcycle into the southbound lane of South Mission Road. It then collided with a gray Model S Tesla.
 
The motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the truck driver drove away from the scene. Police later identified him as 33-year-old Francisco Esteban Rodas of Fallbrook.
 
Around 6:30 p.m., police arrested Rodas at his home on suspicion of felony DUI and felony hit-and-run. They booked him into the Vista Detention Facility.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. They urged anyone with further information to call them at 760-643-3400.
