Broadside Accident on Mesa Street in Hesperia Kills Motorcycle Rider

HESPERIA, CA (July 21, 2021) – A 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a broadside accident at Mesa Street and Ninth Avenue Sunday shortly before noon.

The accident happened around 11:54 a.m. on July 18. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Ninth Avenue and failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The motorcyclist who was heading west on Mesa Street then broadsided the Jeep.

The impact sent the motorcycle down in the roadway, while the Jeep overturned on its side.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and died at the scene. Authorities will release his identity once his family members are properly notified.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
