Traffic Accident on Lomita Boulevard in Wilmington Kills Motorcycle Rider

 
WILMINGTON, CA (May 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist died Sunday evening after a traffic accident at Lomita Boulevard and Van Tress Avenue.
 
The accident happened around 7:55 p.m. on May 2. According to Los Angeles police, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Lomita when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto southbound Van Tress from westbound Lomita.
 
The impact threw the man off the motorcycle. He died at the scene, CHP officials said.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
 
It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol, drugs or distracted driving contributed to the crash. An investigation is underway.
