Fatal Accident on Highway 50 in Sacramento Involves Motorcycle and Two Other Vehicles

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 13, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 50 in Sacramento Wednesday afternoon, May 12.
 
The accident happened around 2:36 p.m. near 59th Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle and two other vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, the rider suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
CHP officials closed the third and fourth lanes of westbound Highway 50 while they documented the crash.
 
It is unknown if speed or intoxication played a factor in the accident. Further investigation is underway.
