Rider Seriously Injured in Accident on West Barstow Avenue near Island Waterpark Drive

 
FRESNO, CA (May 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries following an accident on West Barstow Avenue, Thursday morning.
 
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. A compact car reportedly made a U-turn in front of a truck that the Yamaha sportbike was following. Then, the car entered the path of the motorcycle and collided with the rider near Island Waterpark Drive.
 
The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to land on top of the car.
 
Emergency crews rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital with serious hand injuries. Authorities did not release the name and age of the rider.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Fresno police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
