Late Evening Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway in National City Sends Motorcyclist to Hospital

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (February 27, 2023) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized in a hit-and-run crash on 5 Freeway in National City late Monday evening.
 
The crash happened around 11:14 p.m. on February 20, just near 43rd Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a white Nissan Sentra hit the motorcyclist and drove away.
 
The motorcycle rider was thrown onto the middle lanes while the bike was about 100 feet away.
 
An ambulance that happened to drive by the scene stopped to transport the motorcyclist to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
At this time, the CHP is still investigating the crash and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
