Traffic Accident on 8 Freeway west of Mountain Springs Road Leaves Rider Dead

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 30, 2021) – A motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon after a traffic accident on 8 Freeway in San Diego.
 
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on May 29, just west of Mountain Springs Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcycle collided with a vehicle for unknown reasons.
 
First responders found the rider unconscious on the right shoulder. They performed life-saving aid, but the rider died at the scene.
 
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
CHP officials shut down all lanes of eastbound 8 Freeway around 3:00 p.m. while they documented the accident.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
