Rollover Accident on Highway 299 in Fall River Mills Sends 3 to Hospital Including Two Young Children

 
FALL RIVER MILLS, CA (March 9, 2022) – A Yuba City mother and her two young children were taken to a hospital after a rollover accident on Highway 299 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened on March 6 along a two-lane stretch of the highway, about a half-mile west of Vista Point. According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, a black SUV had struck the mountainside and overturned.
 
When officers arrived, they found the SUV on its roof blocking both directions of the highway. With help from witnesses and good Samaritans, all three victims had already self-extricated from the overturned vehicle.
 
Ground ambulances then took the mother and the children – an infant of around 8-months and a two-year-old – to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. An investigation is underway.
