GILROY, CA (July 1, 2021) — Minor injuries were reported in a big rig crash on Highway 101 near San Martin Avenue Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:00 a.m. Under unclear conditions, a driver of a big rig hauling a tractor-trailer struck the guardrail while driving southbound. As a result, the big rig ended up on the northbound side and struck several vehicles before coming to a stop on the highway on-ramp.
 
As a result, several people sustained minor injuries and crews had to close all northbound lanes of the highway.
