4 Hospitalized in 2-Car Crash on Highway 1 in Santa Barbara County

 
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (October 1, 2024) — A minor was among four people injured in a 2-car accident on Highway 1 near Santa Lucia Canyon Road.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to the 5:00 p.m. crash Sunday to find two cars involved. For an unknown reason, two vehicles collided on Highway 1 near Vandenberg Space Force Base on Santa Lucia Canyon Road.
 
Subsequently, Santa Barbara County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and took three adults with moderate to major injuries to Marian Regional Medical Center. They also took a young girl to Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
 
Due to the crash, police closed Highway 1 in both directions to investigate.
 
At this time, the CHP is investigating the possible reasons for the accident. If any witnesses could help traffic investigators, call the CHP.
