Mike Vargas Sr. Killed in DUI Motorcycle Crash on Escalon-Bellota Road near Gawne Road

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (June 30, 2022) — Mike Vargas Sr. died in a DUI motorcycle accident on Escalon-Bellota Road near Gawne Road on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle collision occurred around 3:00 p.m.
 
For DUI-related reasons, a Tesla driver heading northbound on Escalon-Bellota Road veered into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a motorcycle, operated by 58-year-old Vargas.
 
Due to the manner of the crash, the father and grandfather suffered fatal injuries at the scene. His family has created a GoFundMe page to bring awareness and garner help.
 
Shortly after the accident, investigators responded and arrested the 35-year-old Tesla driver who appeared to be intoxicated.
