Coroner Identifies Miguel Gonzalez Killed in 5 Freeway Crash in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (November 29, 2021) – Miguel Angel Gonzalez was killed in a traffic accident on northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita on Tuesday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. on November 23, just south of Calgrove Boulevard. According to the CHP, Gonzalez was driving a Ford Explorer SUV when he rear-ended a 2022 Peterbilt big rig for unknown reasons.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and found Gonzalez inside the SUV. They rushed him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Gonzalez was a 56-year-old Stevenson Ranch resident, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
 
Crews closed the first, second and third lanes of the northbound freeway near the crash site for an unknown duration while they cleared the wreckage.
 
At this time, an investigation into this crash is ongoing.
