Michael Robinson Killed in Bicycle Accident on Broadway Street [Eureka, CA]

Bicyclist Dies after Hit by Semi Truck at Broadway and Henderson Streets

 
EUREKA, CA (October 12, 2021) – Michael Wray Robinson died in a bicycle accident in Eureka Friday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on October 8, in the area of Broadway Street and Henderson Street. According to the Eureka Police Department, Robinson was riding his bicycle when a semi truck hit him near Gold Rush Coffee.
 
First responders located Robinson down in the roadway with significant injuries. They provided life-saving aid at the scene before taking him to a hospital.
 
Sadly, Robinson did not survive and was pronounced dead.
 
Robinson was a 49-year-old Eureka resident. Her sister told authorities that he had been homeless for 17 years.
 
The driver of the semi-truck remained on scene and was found to not be under the influence after voluntary sobriety tests, according to police.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
