Michael Dougherty Killed in Two-Car Crash in Escondido

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (November 9, 2021) — Michael Dougherty died in a two-car accident on Encinitas Boulevard near Princehouse Lane Thursday night.
 
According to reports, the fatal two-car accident happened around 7:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, 62-year-old Dougherty stopped his 2007 Toyota Corolla in the southbound lane of the road. Subsequently, a Toyota Tacoma collided with the driver’s side of his vehicle, which sent both vehicles to the opposite side of the street before stopping at a curb.
 
Soon after, authorities and emergency personnel responded and found Dougherty, of Escondido, trapped inside his car with severe injuries. He died moments later.
 
Per officers, it appears he had just delivered groceries prior to the accident.
 
At this time, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has not released information on the other driver or the liabilities. However, they have ruled out impairment as a possible source.
