Michael Burks Dies in Turlock Pedestrian Accident

 
TURLOCK, CA (August 22, 2022) — Michael Burks died in a pedestrian accident on Golden State Boulevard near Barnhart Road on Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 12:16 a.m. Upon responding, CHP officers, Keyes Fire Protection District and paramedics found a 51-year-old man with serious injuries and brought him to a hospital.
 
However, despite having received life-saving efforts, the Modesto man succumbed to his injuries. Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified him as Burks.
 
As for the 32-year-old driver of the silver Ford sedan, Kaisee Budworth, she reported no injuries in the crash.
 
During the investigation, officers learned that Budworth was traveling south on Golden State Boulevard at about 45 miles per hour. Subsequently, her Ford struck Burks who was wearing black clothing and was walking in the middle of the southbound lanes during poor lighting conditions in the area.
