UPDATE: Michael Bradfute Killed, Robert Ondracek Uninjured in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 99 [Merced, CA]

Michael Bradfute Dies in Merced Car Accident on Highway 99 near V Street

 
MERCED, CA (June 22, 2021) — The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified Modesto resident 42-year-old Michael Bradfute in a fatal accident on Highway 99 near V Street on June 16.
 
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the collision on northbound Highway 99 south of V Street at about 10:40 p.m. on June 16. Bradfute drove a 2021 Mazda CX-5 when it failed to slow for traffic ahead and collided with the rear of a tractor trailer driven by a 52-year-old Robert Ondracek of Fresno.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, Ondracek was traveling about 10 mph in the No. 1 lane. Road construction north of the crash scene caused the No. 1 lane to merge into the No. 2 lane.
 
As a result, Bradfute suffered fatal injuries. As for Ondracek, he remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
