Coroner Identifies 22-Year-Old Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash on PCH in Huntington Beach

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (September 14, 2021) – Meghan Wautlet died in a motorcycle accident in Huntington Beach Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:17 p.m. on September 11, between Warner Avenue and the entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, Wautlet was a passenger on a 2019 Harley Davidson Street Bob, driven by 21-year-old John Murray III. They were traveling southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when they collided with a 2015 Mazda CX-5.
 
As a result, Wautlet suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 22-year-old of Huntington Beach, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
 
Murray sustained critical injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the Mazda’s driver, a 41-year-old woman from Beaumont, stayed on scene of the accident and cooperated with authorities.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash. Police asked anyone with further information to call HBPD Traffic Investigator D. Demetre at (714) 536-5670, or Investigator V. Rattanchandani at (714) 536-5231.
