Maximiliano Santiago Detained after Hit-and-Run Accident in Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA, CA (February 15, 2022) – Police arrested hit-and-run driver Maximiliano Santiago after a bicycle accident on Chelsea Avenue on February 13.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Santa Monica Boulevard at approximately 2:08 AM.
Based on a report, the suspect was driving a black Chevrolet sedan at the time of the crash. Soon after, Santiago struck a 16-year-old cyclist in the lanes.
As a result, the cyclist suffered critical injuries.
The driver fled the scene of the accident. Soon after, Santa Monica Police officers arrested 29-year-old Santiago on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving without a license.
