17-Year-Old Boy Dies after Struck Intentionally by 2 Vehicles in South LA, Suspects at Large

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (August 22, 2022)Matthew Lobos was hit and killed by two vehicles in South Los Angeles on the outskirts of a party early Sunday, August 21.
 
The fatality happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the area of Avalon Boulevard and 62nd Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a group of more than 150 teenagers was attending the party in a parking lot when a heated argument occurred.
 
Moments later, the driver of a white Acura sedan ran over the victim and then crashed into a light pole. A second vehicle, a black Maserati SUV, also ran over the teen, exited the parking lot, reversed over him again, and then drove away.
 
Lobos died at the scene. He was a 17-year-old senior at Santee High School.
 
The suspects remained at large late Sunday morning. Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the LAPD’s Newton station at 323-846-6547 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
