Matthew Kohatsu Struck, Killed by Train on Dillon Road near Avenue 48

 
CORONA, CA (July 2, 2021) — Matthew Kohatsu was hit and killed by a train on Dillon Road near Avenue 48 Thursday morning.
 
According to the Riverside County coroner’s office, the deadly crash happened around 6:35 a.m. For unknown reasons, 23-year-old Kohatsu was near the train tracks when a Union Pacific train struck him. As a result, the Corona man suffered fatal injuries.
 
At this time, detectives have no information on the cause or the moments that occurred prior to the impact. However, if anyone has more to add to this case, please contact the Indio Police Department.
