Mason Howard Involved in Fatal Accident on Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 21, 2021) – Police arrested Mason Rodney Howard for DUI after a fatal accident on Mission Inn Avenue on April 18.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Indian Hill Road around 7:53 PM.
 
Based on a report, 22-year-old Howard of Laguna Niguel was driving a 2003 red Ford Ranger eastbound on Mission Inn at the time of the crash. At the same time, a woman had been standing in the roadway’s eastbound lanes, tending to a small dog who had been previously struck by a vehicle. Due to unknown reasons, Howard struck the woman.
 
As a result, the victim suffered major injuries. Later on, an attending coroner pronounced her dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately available.
 
Howard allegedly fled toward downtown Riverside. Fortunately, a witness followed and reported him. Eventually, police booked him into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
