Pedestrian Mary Baumgardner Dies after Hit by Two Vehicles in Pearblossom

 
PEARBLOSSOM, CA (March 28, 2021) – A 35-year-old woman who died Wednesday night in a pedestrian accident in Pearblossom has been identified.
 
She was Mary Baumgardner of Pearblossom, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
 
The accident happened around 7:28 p.m., March 24, on Highway 138 just east of 126th Street East. According to the California Highway Patrol, Baumgardner was walking southbound across the eastbound lanes of the highway when a 2019 Ford Fusion struck her.
 
The impact sent Baumgardner flying into the westbound lanes where another vehicle also hit her. That vehicle fled the scene, CHP officials said.

As a result of the crash, Baumgardner died at the scene.

The Ford Fusion’s driver, 61-year-old Reina L. Flores Urena of Santa Clarita, was unharmed.

The hit-and-run driver remains at large.
