Martin Ojeda Dies in Accident with Semi-Truck on Atlantic Avenue near Vernon Street

 
LONG BEACH, CA (May 16, 2022) — Martin Ojeda died in a crash with a big rig on Atlantic Avenue near Vernon Street on Friday.
 
According to Long Beach Police, the fatal accident happened around 10:10 p.m. For unknown reasons, 24-year-old Ojeda of Long Beach made an unsafe lane change while driving south on Atlantic Avenue. Subsequently, his 2017 Honda Civic struck an unoccupied big rig.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene. Paramedics pronounced Ojeda, the solo occupant of the Honda, deceased at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities believe speed and DUI played roles in this fatal crash.
