Mariano Antonio Dies after Hit by Truck on Lennon Way near Willow Glen High School

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 23, 2022)Mariano Perez Antonio died after being hit by a truck at a work site in San Jose on May 5.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:58 a.m. in the 1200 block of Lennon Way, just near Willow Glen High School. According to a San Jose Police Department, a man in a 2012 Isuzu work truck was driving south on Lennon Way. He pulled up to a driveway of a home that was under construction.
 
As the truck driver was backing up to unload supplies, he crashed into a 2014 BMW parked behind the truck. The truck then continued backing into the driveway and hit Antonio, pinning him between the back of the truck and the parked vehicle in the driveway.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Antonio to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Antonio was a 21-year-old San Jose resident, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

The driver did not appear to display any impairment from drugs or alcohol. Further investigation is underway
