Head-On Accident in Willow Springs, Police Identify Francisca Pineda and Maria Gonzalez

 
WILLOW SPRINGS, CA (September 14, 2021) – Police identified the two victims who died in a head-on car accident on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road Friday afternoon, September 10.
 
62-year-old Francisca Noemi Pineda of Mojave and 68-year-old Maria De Los Angeles Oliveros Gonzalez of Palmdale died at the scene, according to officials.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 3:15 p.m. just north of Backus Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Odyssey and Hyundai Sonata collided head-on for unknown reasons. However, officials did not release many details about the accident.
 
Both Pineda and Gonzalez were passengers in one of the vehicles involved.
 
There are no reports of other injures at this time. However, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
