Manuel Pantoja Injured after Motorcycle Crashes into Vehicle on Comanche Drive in Arvin

 
ARVIN, CA (April 21, 2021) – Police identified Manuel Pantoja as the driver of the vehicle involved in a fatal motorcycle accident on Comanche Drive on April 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Sunset Boulevard at approximately 1:43 PM.
 
Based on a report, Manuel Pantoja, 49, of Arvin, stopped his Chevy Suburban on the right shoulder of southbound Comanche. At that time, he was towing a utility trailer and he attempted to make a U-turn. Subsequently, a 2010 Kawasaki EX250J that was also travelling south on Comanche struck the driver’s side of the Suburban. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
 
As a result, the 19-year-old rider died in the incident. Until now, the victim’s name is not yet available.
Both Pantoja and passenger Jessie Mendez sustained minor to moderate injuries. Crews transported them to Kern Medical for treatment.
