Manuel Contreras Charged in Deadly DUI Crash on Sycamore Avenue and Main Street
ORANGE, CA (July 21, 2021) — Manuel Contreras was arrested in Sunday’s fatal DUI accident on Sycamore Avenue and Main Street.
According to Orange Police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 4:00 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, 23-year-old Manuel Antonio Sanchez Contreras failed to yield behind a Mazda Protege waiting in a left turn lane to head westbound onto Sycamore Avenue. As a result, Contreras’ Honda Accord slammed into the Mazda at a high rate of speed.
Due to the force of the crash, the driver of the Mazda suffered major injuries and died shortly after. Meanwhile, Contreras, of Los Angeles, suffered no injuries.
