Innocent Young Couple Die in Police Chase on Glasgow Avenue Involving Suspected Impaired Driver

 
INGLEWOOD, CA (April 30, 2021) – A man and woman died after a police chase in Inglewood Wednesday.
 
Officers saw a blue Dodge pickup truck speeding and running a red light on Century Boulevard near 405 Freeway at 10:35 p.m. on April 28. They tried to pull the truck over, but the driver fled, according to California Highway Patrol.
 
The suspect exited the freeway and led officers on a pursuit. He eventually turned north on Glasgow Avenue and crashing into a sedan traveling eastbound on Olive Street. He then ran from the scene, but was quickly captured by officers.
 
Firefighters freed the two victims who were trapped in the wreckage. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to a hospital, where he also died.
 
The coroner’s office only described the victims as being in their 20s. They said the woman was a 22-year-old phlebotomist who was out with her 27-year-old boyfriend.
 
At this time, investigators were looking into the possibility that the suspect was under the influence of a drug or narcotic at the time of the crash.
