Two Killed when Car Crashes into Greenfield Pond at 14th Street and Cypress Avenue

 
GREENFIELD, CA (September 8, 2022) — A man and a woman died after a car crashed into a pond at 14th Street and Cypress Avenue on Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal overturned accident happened around 8:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, occupied by a man and a woman, struck a wooden post while heading westbound on 14th Street.
 
As a result, the Jeep SUV flipped into an irrigation pond, and the couple was ejected from the car.
 
Moments later, paramedics and CHP officers responded to the scene and found both occupants with fatal injuries. However, investigators have not released their names.
 
As of now, authorities have not confirmed if alcohol or drugs played a part in this accident. Though, if anyone has more information on this accident, please call the CHP.
