Man in Wheelchair Struck, Killed by Train on Carlsbad Village Drive

 
CARLSBAD, CA (November 17, 2021) — A man in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a train on Carlsbad Village Drive near the 5 Freeway on Monday evening.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened just before 5:00 p.m. Upon responding, deputies found a man who had been struck by a northbound train.
 
Soon after, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. His name has been withheld pending notification of family members.
