FAIRFIELD, CA (January 20, 2022) – Police confirmed that a vehicle struck and killed a man in an accident on 80 Freeway on January 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at West Texas Street around 9:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was trying to cross the freeway at the time of the crash. At the same time, a driver was heading eastbound on the freeway. Due to unknown reasons, the driver was not able to stop on time and struck the man.
 
As a result, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident. Emergency crews rushed him to the North Bay Medical Center, where he later died. Officers identified him as a 38-year-old Fairfield resident.
